A. Roll-Call.

B. General Business:

  1. We don't currently have a Colorado Springs-area event for National Orienteering Day. Sverre will work on a permit for Fox Run for 9/15/2007. Sherry will find a Meet Director & Course Setter.

  2. We agreed to designate the upcoming meet at Observatory as the George Bramhall Memorial Meet. All meet revenue (gross) will be donated to the non-profit organization cited in George's obituary, The Land Institute.

  3. John Crowther agreed to be the official E-Punch Guru for RMOC. John agreed to prepare an equipment cost estimate to be presented at our annual meeting in November. He will work with Valerie Meyer, since she's a very knowledgeable e-punch resource.

C. US Forest Service Permit Issues:

  • The Sprint Relay was staged at the Manitou Experimental Forest without a porta-potty, despite the permit's explicit requirement that the Start / Finish be located at the Pike Community Campground and that a porta-potty be provided. We are now in a probationary status with the Forest Service, and future permits are in jeopardy.

Therefore, we need to be especially careful to follow all permit requirements at our upcoming meets at Observatory and Kelly Dahl. Sverre will re-confirm the details and requirements and will pass along the information to the Observatory and Kelly Dahl Meet Directors and Course Setters.

D. USOF Convention and Five-Day Meet:

  • A precise report of income and expenses is still pending. Sherry thinks we covered the cost of the new map at Peaceful Valley (~$13,000), but we didn't make any additional money beyond that.
