The Beginner courses (White and Yellow) will be suitable for Beginners of all ages -- kids, adults, families, etc.

    Course Details:

    Yellow Short 2.8
    Intermediate Orange Medium 4.2
    Advanced Green Medium 5.4

    Course Setter's Notes:

    - Many campers are in the area. Be careful not to walk straight through any campsites. Other users include motorcyclists, mountain bikers, hikers, etc.

    - Also, one moose was wandering along the White course trails while I was vetting control locations -– very large and much snorting as I attempted to move away from the area.

    - We are using the new map from 2015 (by Mikell Platt), at 1:10,000 scale for all courses. Logged areas are mapped as rough open; medium green areas can be either thick forest or aspen.

    - The trail and road network is very good. Boulders are only mapped if over one meter high. Private properties are located along the north and south areas of the map, so be careful not to cross into those properties (there are NOT always fences to mark those boundaries).

  • Beginner Instruction: Basic Beginner Instruction will take place at 1:00 pm in the vicinity of the Registration table. When you check in, let a volunteer know that you would like Beginner Instruction.

  • Event Fees: Our standard meet fees will apply. Please refer to the table below.

Attention! Please park along the south side of the road near our registration area, rather than in the main parking lot (USFS permit requirement).

    • From Boulder: Take Canyon Boulevard / Highway 119 up to Nederland. As you drive through Nederland, you'll encounter a roundabout; go through the roundabout and take the road for Highway 119 / 72 South (Peak to Peak Highway). Continue south on 119 / 72 / Peak to Peak Highway for about two miles. Just as you approach Magnolia Road and the Sundance Café on your left, take a right onto the Forest Service Road (it may possibly be marked as "Haul Road"). Follow the orange-and-white "O" signs to the parking area.

    • From Golden: Take Highway 93 north to Highway 72 / Coal Creek Canyon Road. Take 72 / Coal Creek Canyon Road west to Highway 119 / Peak to Peak Highway. Go north on 119 / Peak to Peak for about a quarter of a mile. As you approach the Sundance Café on your right, turn left onto the Forest Service Road (it may possibly be marked as "Haul Road"; if you pass Magnolia Road, you've gone too far). Follow the orange-and-white "O" signs to the parking area.
