Notes from the Course Setter:
The leaves are turning up here and if you are heading up on Saturday, bring your camera. Allow extra time on the road because the Peak to Peak Highway will be crowded this weekend. And be aware of leaf gawkers making abrupt movements on the highway, whether in the car or not.
The Camp Tahosa map is a new map and we had our first event here last year. We have seen moose, elk, deer and turkeys in the area. There is no cell service up there, at least not with AT&T.
The area has a permanent course marked with gallon jugs with an O-flag and punch on it. Please just ignore those; there may be some that are close to our controls.
The white areas on the map may not be runnable due to lots of downed trees. These areas may not be marked as green.
There are also downed trees across the marked trails; sometime it may be difficult to see where the trail continues on the other side. This is especially true for the White and Yellow courses.
The ponds and wet areas are not wet "from the standpoint of water" as it has been very dry. I didn't check the area immediately to the west of the main lake.
Only Red runners will cross CR 96. Be careful when you do as there may be significant traffic on that road.
All courses except for White and Yellow will cross barbed wire fences. Some of the fences are broken and down on the ground, mapped as broken fence; these are not very visible, be careful.
Safety bearing will be north to CR 96 or east to the Peak to Peak Highway.
Thanks and see you there on Saturday!
-- JP Lande, Course Setter

Update 9/9/2019: There's construction in Boulder Canyon reducing it to one lane, alternating traffic. Alternate routes:
* Take Coal Creek Canyon to get to Highway 72.

* OR, go through Lyons, then southwest back to highway 72, and then south to Camp Tahosa.
