Ski-O & Snowshoe-O at Devil's Thumb Ranch

The first annual Ski-O at Devil's Thumb Ranch (DTR) was a success. The weather was great, snow conditions perfect...at least on DTR's side of Berthoud Pass. Nevertheless, we had a good showing, though many of you may have been unable to make it over the pass. For those of you who had the opportunity to make it to the race, not only did you experience the great snow, but you were also challenged with a great map and terrain. DTR has over 120 km of groomed trails, which made it fun to make a point-to-point type of Ski-O. With that and the dynamics of the area, such as pine beetles and nearby developments, the trails and the map will most likely change for next year's event.
Thank you all for coming, especially to Nancy and Gordon McMurry for helping out with registration and starts. Thanks also to Jen for her help hanging and picking up controls, as well as Mike and Chris for picking up controls. Many thanks to Devil's Thumb Ranch for hosting us -- including the discounted trail passes.
