  • Event Details: We're planning two advanced orienteering practice courses near Laramie, WY (~two hours north of Boulder / Denver), in the Medicine Bow National Forest, on June 10 & 11.

Participants should bring their e-punches, as part of the reason for the training weekend is to test a timing system to be used at our Labor Daze event in September. We will use a mass start for both days to simulate what we will be doing in September. There will be control flags at all control locations.

    • E-Punching: Bring your SportIdent stick! We'll also have plenty of loaners available.

    • Eligibility: All participants must be members in good standing of an OUSA-recognized orienteering club (e.g., RMOC).

    • Difficulty: The weekend's two practice courses will be for advanced-level orienteers (anyone able to complete a Brown, Green, Red, or Blue course).

    • Pre-Registration: Pre-registration is required by 11:59 pm MDT on Thursday, June 8th. Use the form at the bottom of this page.

    • Water: There will not be any water on any of the courses, or at the start / finish; please bring your own water bottle or hydration pack, and your own snacks.

    • Toilets: There will not be porta-potties or pit toilets at any of our practice course locations. Use the bathrooms at the Visitor Center when you exit I-80.
