- Driving Directions:
From Colorado Springs, take Highway 24 west to the town of Lake George. Entering the town of Lake George, take the first left onto County Road 96. (Look for Starky's General Store and turn south just before the store. If you cross the river, you've gone too far.) Follow County Road 96 for about one mile to the 11-Mile Canyon entrance. Turn right into 11-Mile Canyon and proceed to the ranger station.
Tell the gate attendant that you're heading to Camp Alexander, and the park entry fee should be waived. Follow 11-Mile Canyon for about two miles past Riverside Campground (watch for oncoming traffic!). Look for the camp entrance on the left.Note: The camp's postal address won't work with Google Maps or GPS units as it is not a true physical address. You can use the town of Lake George as a reference point and then follow the directions above.
